Sioux Falls Flyers Varsity Hockey | Lady Flyers | GIRLS

It is with great pleasure that I write this letter to recommend Alyssa Lingen for the 2022-2023 season Hobey Baker Award for the Sioux Falls Flyers High School Hockey Team. Over the past five years I have coached her as part of the Lady Flyers ice hockey team. During that time, she has consistently proved to be an intelligent, hardworking, and focused student athlete. Alyssa has great talent as an athlete and is a natural leader. Alyssa served as team Captain this season with the Flyers.
Alyssa’s high academic achievement speaks for itself. She takes her school work seriously and sets high expectations for herself which she consistently attained. In addition, she actively balances her multiple priorities of school and extracurricular involvement. She is highly organized and responsible in her self-management of her schedule and priorities. As a coach, she is a pleasure to work with as I know she will bring her best each day.
One can easily see tangible evidence of Alyssa’s success on paper. I have also witnessed her ability to build relationships with teammates. She is a skilled communicator and highly perceptive to the needs of others. Her team focus is also evident with her willingness to mentor younger players and welcome them to the team.
For a multitude of reasons including those explained above, I selected Alyssa as our team’s Hobey Baker Award winner for this season. The award recognizes high school hockey players such as Alyssa who exemplify integrity, commitment, teamwork, and community leadership.
It is my honor to recommend Alyssa Lingen to you at this time. I fully anticipate continued success in her future endeavors.
