Alexa Nush
2018 | Pennsylvania | GIRLS
Downingtown West Girls Varsity | Whippets | GIRLS
Alexa Nush has a medical condition that causes her frequent, debilitating headaches. Every day Alexa wakes up with the knowledge that without warning, she could have a crippling headache. Despite these circumstances, Alexa has shown that this is merely a condition she has, and has not allowed it to define her. She attends an online high school now, and plans to attend college in order to further her education. Alexa has proven her leadership on and off the ice and in the community both at and away from the rink. On the ice, Alexa has become a leader to younger players through her strength and determination. Alexa demonstrates through her example that despite difficult circumstances you can choose how you respond. Numerous times I have seen her on the bench holding her head in pain, only to be back out a few minutes later. Outside of the team, She coaches youth figure skating at the rink and is involved in helping with the training of therapy animals.
