As head coach of the girls’ varsity hockey team, I am thrilled to select Allie Smothers as our Hobey Baker High School Character Award honoree.
Allie consistently prioritizes team success over personal gain, sacrificing shifts and mentoring younger players to elevate our collective performance. Her unwavering commitment shines through as a three-sport athlete who balances rigorous training with academic excellence, maintaining a 3.924 GPA and ranking 9th out of 235 in her senior class—demonstrating coachability, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
On the ice, Allie’s quick learning and hockey IQ allow her to seamlessly switch between defense and forward, adapting to needs with outstanding sportsmanship and a positive attitude. Off the ice, she leads our team’s Bible study, fostering community leadership and strength of character that inspires us all.
Allie doesn’t just play hockey; she makes it better for everyone around her. She is a true Hobey Baker legend in the making.
