It is with great respect and enthusiasm that I submit this letter in support of Eli Krueger’s nomination for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award, with particular emphasis on the Character Award component. Eli’s character is evident in the way he conducts himself daily—on the ice, in the locker room, in the classroom, and within the broader community. He is a player who leads through consistent action rather than words, earning the trust and respect of teammates, coaches, opponents, and officials alike. His commitment to fairness, sportsmanship, and accountability sets a standard that elevates everyone around him.
Perhaps most impressively, Eli approaches adversity with humility and resilience. He accepts coaching, holds himself accountable, and responds to challenges with maturity well beyond his years. These qualities speak not only to his character as an athlete, but to the type of person he is becoming.
