It is with great pleasure to select Hunter Huttemann as a prospective candidate for the distinguished Hober Baker High School Character Award. I have had the opportunity to coach Hunter the previous four years in the Varsity Ice Hockey Program. Hunter not only displayed outstanding ability but also distinguished himself as an excellent role model. He has been responsible for establishing outstanding relationships with the members of the team, and his coach as well. In the years that I have been involved in coaching, I can honestly say that Hunter Huttemann is the consummate team leader, displaying the highest level of effort, integrity, and character.
Aside from his athletic attributes, Hunter is an exemplary student. Although I have never been involved in the direct instruction of Hunter, it is clearly evident from his academic performance that he strives for the utmost of success in the classroom. His positive peer interactions and willingness to assume responsibility in classroom settings are tremendous assets to his teachers and other students in this district.
Hunter is extremely involved in extracurricular activities. In addition to Varsity Ice Hockey, Andrew is a member of the Hilton Chapter of the National Honor Society. Hunter has volunteered extensively throughout the community, including participating in the Salvation Army Bell Ringing Fundraiser and the Golisano Children’s Hospital “Good Night Lights” Event. Hunter is also a valued member of the Varsity Athlete Leadership Council at Hilton High School. He has been recognized with the Coaches Award for Varsity Ice Hockey as well as receiving First Team All-County recognition for Ice Hockey. Hunter has been named to the Academic Merit Honor Roll or High Honor Roll in each academic quarter of his high school career and has attained part-time employment.
I highly recommend Hunter Huttemann for the esteemed Hober Baker High School Character Award, without reservation. There is not a student/athlete that I have been in contact with that exhibits his leadership qualities, work ethic, and character. His academic, social, and personal qualities will ensure his success, and make him a most deserving recipient of this award.
