Countdown to Hobey:

Sarah Roberts

2026 | Connecticut |

Mercy High School | Tiger |

Sarah Roberts is one of the hardest-working and most dedicated athletes I’ve coached. Since her freshman year, her growth has been incredible — not just in skill, but in confidence, leadership, and consistency. She puts in the work every single day, both on and off the ice, and it shows in how she plays and how she carries herself as a teammate.

What makes Sarah especially impressive is her commitment to the game despite balancing another high-level sport. While she is pursuing track at the next level, she never treated hockey as secondary. For four years, she gave both sports everything she had. That speaks to her love of the game, her discipline, and her character.

Sarah is a true leader and the glue of our team. There was a practice when she was absent, and the difference in energy and focus was noticeable. She brings intensity, accountability, and purpose to everything we do. If you give Sarah a role or a play, she listens, executes, and does it the right way. She holds herself and her teammates to a high standard and leads by example.

Her dedication extends beyond the rink. She consistently trains on her own time, shooting pucks and working to improve her game. She is also committed to her community. One season, she helped lead our team in organizing and creating blessing bags for a local homeless shelter, showing the same leadership and heart off the ice that she brings to the team.

Sarah embodies commitment, character, teamwork, and love for the game. She is exactly the type of player who makes her team, her community, and the sport of hockey better.
