Please accept my nomination of Elizabeth Haag for the 2025/26 Hobey Baker Award. Elizabeth’s commitment to the game of hockey has been shown by her continuous efforts in practice as a player and as a leader. As an Assistant Captain of the Badger Lightning, Elizabeth provides her teammates with an inclusive environment that allows others to improve their game. Her actions are what speak the loudest as her drive and speed have inspired other players on our team. The passion, drive, and effort that Elizabeth shows on the ice, correlates to what she does off the ice. Carrying a 3.8 grade point average as she finishes out her Senior year of High School, Elizabeth is committed to preparing herself to be hardworking contributor to society and her community. She has proven this by participating in volunteer opportunities that include working with youth hockey/softball leagues, senior living care facilities, and a local Wisconsin State Park in keeping the environment clean. The Badger Lightning will not only remember Elizabeth as a hardworking talented athlete, but also as a caring and influential player on our hockey team and in our communities.
