Robbie Smeltzer is a four-year player who exemplifies everything the Hobey Baker Award represents: leadership, character, dedication, and excellence both on and off the ice.

Throughout his career, Robbie has been an outstanding leader within our program. He leads by example every day—through his work ethic, accountability, and commitment to his teammates. His influence extends beyond game nights; he sets the standard in practice, in the locker room, and within our team culture.

Robbie’s on-ice growth has been nothing short of remarkable. After recording just six points last season, he elevated his game dramatically this year, finishing with 50 points and leading our team in scoring. This improvement reflects his relentless work ethic, coachability, and determination to continually improve—not just for himself, but for the success of the team.

Beyond the statistics, Robbie is respected for his sportsmanship, integrity, and selfless approach. He represents his program with class and maturity and is a role model for younger players within our organization.
