Frank was chosen for this award due to his unique compilation of athletics, academics and community outreach. Frank is a three sport varsity athlete as well as a two sport captain, one of them being hockey. He has maintained a GPA over 96 throughout his high school tenure which has provided him the Academic Excellence award as Frank being a member of Mu Alpha Theta (Math), World Language, Science, and National Honor Societies. Within school, Frank has belonged to the Viking Connections, helping mentor elementary school students about good decision making and social responsibility topics, like substance abuse. He has also helped with the Stars and Stripes Club, organizing community events, such as Veterans Day Brunch and food drives, to support local veterans. In the community, Frank has helped with the Rangers Learn to Play, teaching new players hockey skills. Frank has also volunteered for People to People assisting the Clarkstown Police in collecting donations for the local food pantry. Lastly, Frank has helped the Clarkstown Police with their DARE Dek Hockey & Basketball, helping referee town-wide hockey and basketball tournaments. It is for all of these reasons that we nominate Frank Negri for the Hobey Baker High School Character Award.
