Jessica Dike

Queen City Royals Girls 19uAA | Royals |
It is my highest honor to nominate Jessica Dike, Captain of the Queen City Royals 19U AA team for the 2025–2026 season, for the Hobey Baker High School Character Award.
Jessica was unanimously elected Captain by her teammates, a distinction that speaks volumes about the respect, trust, and admiration she has earned within our program. As Head Coach, I fully supported and affirmed this selection without hesitation. Her leadership is both natural and intentional; she leads not only through performance, but through character.
Throughout the season, Jessica has demonstrated exceptional integrity, resilience, and accountability. She consistently models positivity, even in moments of adversity, and sets a standard of sportsmanship that reflects the highest values of our game. Beyond her impact on the 19U team, Jessica actively invests in our younger players, serving as a mentor and role model within the broader Queen City Royals organization and her local organization in Raleigh. She understands that leadership extends beyond the locker room, and that it is about influence, responsibility, and service.
Jessica’s excellence extends well beyond the rink. She serves as Vice President of the National Honor Society, Treasurer of HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America), and is a member of the National Technical Honor Society, distinctions that reflect both her academic discipline and commitment to professional development. She is also the Captain of the Rolesville High School Varsity Women’s Lacrosse team and serves as a Rolesville High School Ambassador, further demonstrating her leadership across multiple platforms within her school community.
Her dedication to service is equally remarkable. Jessica volunteers as a coach for Triangle Special Hockey, works with the Polar House Hockey League (PHHL), and serves as a head coach for Learn To Play/KinderCanes programs, investing her time into developing the next generation of athletes and ensuring hockey remains inclusive and accessible. She leads not for recognition, but because she genuinely cares about the growth and success of others.
Jessica embodies the spirit of the Hobey Baker High School Character Award through her character, humility, competitive drive, academic excellence, and unwavering commitment to her team and community. She represents the very definition of a student-athlete of distinction, and I cannot think of a more deserving candidate for this honor.
