Deven displayed character at every turn in her four years as the starting varsity goaltender for the Weston / Wayland Warcats. She always “comes to play” with maximum effort in both practice and games. With great resilience, she worked tirelessly for her team from puck drop to final buzzer. No matter how strong their opponent, her team could always count on her to keep them in the game. She has been an excellent mentor, role model and friend to our underclassman goalie and both girls benefitted greatly from this relationship. Deven always maintained a positive attitude and wonderful humor as a natural leader both on and off the ice. As a result she was chosen team captain her senior year. At the end of each game, with a big smile, she would always be the first one to shake hands with and thank the referees. Deven is a natural choice for this award.
