Countdown to Hobey:

Robert Cooper Dove

2018 | Michigan | BOYS

Marysville High School | Vikings | BOYS

Cooper exemplifies everything about the Hobey Baker award. As a four year varsity player, he was voted Captain of his team by his teammates. When asked at his first tryout what position he played, Cooper’s response was Wherever you need me, Coach, and he has lived up to that. Cooper is a solid two way player that can be depended on to preform wherever he is asked to play. He is a great example of what a hockey player should be. Cooper is an excellent student making the “all academicâ€_x009d_ team every season. In 2016, the coaching staff created an award just for him, The Community Give Back Player of The Year Award was awarded to Cooper, recognizing his dedication to volunteering his time with the local youth hockey program. He is a referee, a student coach and donates his time as a volunteer at many events. The term coachable has been used by every coach he has played for. His commitment to the team aspect of the game is shown by his tireless effort to bring students out for the team, and by being a positive role model both in the class room and on the ice. There is no one more deserving of this award.
