Jimmy Bursinger is most deserving of Liberty’s Hobey Baker award . He was voted overwhelmingly as the team’s leader for the 2016-17 season . When teammates deviate from team rules he makes sure corrective action is carried out .In keeping with our team theme Leave No Doubt Jimmy brings a difference making positive attitude to the rink everyday even when injured and can not take the ice .
As a player Jimmy possesses exceptional skills . There are no excuses in his lexicon and he readily owns up to his mistakes on the ice and as a leader he often helps the staff sort out positional plays .
Jimmy is well known by his peers through out the league and win or lose he always has respect for his opponents .
In the community he has volunteered his time to help younger players improve their game , helped serve meals to the homeless, assisted neighbors setting up activities and events and lead our team to visit kids at Children’s Hospital and then serving meals to parents at the Columbus McDonald House .
Jimmy is one of the most skilled players on our team but even a better person and this is why we have chosen him for the 2017 High School Hobey Baker award .
