This year’s winner from Downingtown West exemplifies the attributes of the Hobey Baker award by demonstrating exceptional integrity and positive attitude, selflessness, and passion for excellence off the ice as well as coachability and sportsmanship on the ice.

Joe made it easy on the coaching staff by consistently playing whatever role was asked of him over his years as a varsity player. He is a silent leader and role model for younger players in the organization, but more importantly demonstrates academic excellence. He is a National Honor Society member and will be attending Penn State in the fall.

Following in the footsteps of his older brother, Connor, it is the coaching staff’s honor to present the 2017 Hobey Baker Award to Joe Leahy.
