I am writing on behalf of Parker James as a Hobey Baker candidate winner.
Parker has played four years of varsity hockey for the Cheboygan Chiefs.
He is a three sport athlete with hockey, football & golf and still
maintains a 3.89 GPA!

Every year Parker played for me, he showed noticeable Improvement. In
Parkers first year he was a sixth defensemen and by the time he was a
junior he was playing both defense and wing in the same year. Now that he
is a senior, he’s one of our top center men who also plays defense!
Throughout his four years, wherever or whenever I need Parker he has shown
up to give it his best. . He is one of the captains of the team for this
2016-2017 season. Not only is he a good hockey player , Parker is the
type of player that every coach wants on his team and for four years I
have enjoyed coaching him and watching him develop into a strong leader
for any community he is a part of. Each time he comes to the rink Parker
has a smile on his face and is ready to play whether it is a game day or
hockey practice.

The traits I have highlighted are the traits I believe the Hobey Baker
Award stands for. I can’t say enough good things about Parker James but
he will be missed when he leaves to go to college .
