Patrick Swaney has been on the Varsity hockey team for all four years. He has not only been a strong producer of offense, but has also been a leader in many other ways. Patrick is extremely humble, never gloating or excessively celebrating over goals or wins. He is self-deprecating in the sense that he constantly strives to be better and never rests on his laurels. Patrick works to build his teammates up, no matter their skill level or mindset; he doesn’t give up on others. His calm demeanor is relied on by all in the locker room or on the bench, and his ability to not only see the ice but also communicate his vision to his team is a huge benefit to all. Patrick is consistently gracious to his opponents and the referees. While penalties are rare for Patrick, he isn’t one to argue a call. Patrick’s capabilities have certainly been felt and will be missed by all that have taken the ice with him.
