Mike Adkins is a 4 year varsity player at Portsmouth High School. He is a senior assistant captain for the team. In his early years, Mike dedicated himself to improving by working hard on and off the ice. He has been a leader by example since his freshmen year. He consistently shot 50+ pucks each day in response to his coaches challenge in the off season. He played a major role in leading the PHS Patriots to the finals in 2015-16. During the finals, he ruptured his spleen toward the end of game 3, in which they fell short of the win and was taken to the hospital shortly after. He reinvented himself in the off-season and returned to be a true leader by example to his peers and an inspiration to all. He will forever be remembered for his kindness, dedication and effort during his time at Portsmouth High School.
