For Warroad’s senior captain, Madison Oelkers there is no off-season. No matter what time of the year it is, you can find Madison training to better herself and her team. If she had to she would train alone; but because she wants her teammates to also do well and improve she is always calling them to join her. Madison is well liked and respected by her peers. She also has an incredible attitude and is always respectful to coaches, teammates, refs, and teachers. Madison is seen as the mother figure of the team. This could be because while her own mom was going through intense chemo treatments, she was in charge at home. Although not the eldest, Madison took on the role with great poise. She was able to keep up with school and hockey which is an important part of her life. Madison loves her family; she loves her team; she loves her community; she loves to win; but most of all she loves the game.
