Leadership is often defined as being vocal and driven. While Abby is both of these things, she has a way about her that exudes kindness and respect. When the year began, the coaching staff asked Abby to center two players who had never played varsity hockey. She never balked. In fact, she was excited by the challenge. That line has been able to stay together all year because of Abby’s leadership style. She has high expectations, but works cooperatively with her line mates to address issues and improve. This carries over to her relationship with the entire team. She knows how to have fun, but her teammates also respect when she gets serious and competitive. She has used hard work and determination to improve her performance on the ice. She is one of the top forwards on a team that is ranked in the top 5 in the state.
