Countdown to Hobey:

Bazel Wolf

2022 | Michigan | BOYS

New Boston United | none | BOYS

Bazel is one of two players on the team who have lost a father. Tragically, his father passed away in a work-related incident. He worked for Wayne County and was run over by a co-worker while filling asphalt holes. He is the oldest of two, with a younger sister in the 9th grade. He is a good big brother and is dedicated to his hockey team as a captain. He is a three-year player on the team and was second in scoring. On the ice, nobody out-works Baz. He is a fiercely competitive players and loves the game. The stats do not matter to him, he just loves the sport and wants others around him to be better. He has really grown into his role as a leader-off and on the ice.
He has high character and while I knew he was a great kid, one of the players said to me quietly, you know coach, you never heard Baz swear…ever! I thought for a moment and shook my head in amazement. He was right. Not when he gets frustrated, not when a bad call happens, not when he makes a bad play, and not even in the locker room joking with his buddies.
He wants to lead the off-ice and summer workouts this season and I believe he will do a good job. He is a good student and has made improving his GPA as one of three goals before next season.
