Ethan was selected due to his love of the game of hockey and the character in which he played it. He was a 4 year varsity player for Mattawan Hockey serving as an assistant captain his Senior year. He played and practiced the game everyday with the effort and love for the game that embodies this award. He not only made his teammates better players with his effort but more importantly he made his teammates better people with his positive attitude and character. He as an excellent candidate and reflection of the Hobey Baker Character Award.
