Nick is an exemplary student athlete.  I have watched Nick of the past three seasons grow in both his athletic ability and his confidence.  He is hard working and competitive.  These traits and his achievement personality are the reasons he was elected captain by his teammates.  He excels on the ice as well as in the classroom.  He is looked up to by underclassmen because he makes juggling school, extracurricular activities, and family look easy.  He is an excellent role model and inclusive to all players.  He participates in other activities in school and the community, and he is the player that comes to me about any needs the team or school has.  He addresses the coaches and parents as a confident young man, looking them in the eye and speaking his mind.  

He drives the team to reach its potential.  His leadership is vocal and motivational, but his work ethic is most impressive.  Through half of last season he quietly and patiently worked hard to rehab a knee and over last summer he ran our workouts.  He was asked to change roles in his senior year.  He had always played forward and has great scoring ability, but I asked him to switch to defense for the benefit of the team.  As I expected he is excelling at this role as well.  He is supportive and positive.  He has never lost his temper with an opponent or teammate and I have never heard him blame a referee.  

Nick has been a captain and leader of this team.  He will be missed when he goes, but the coaches and I have high hopes for his future successes.  I offer you a glowing recommendation on his behalf and thank him for his hard work and positive attitude.
