Brandt is a “mid-year ’97” and has played competitively for a total twelve years:  three years at the mite level, two years of squirt, one of pee-wee and two years of bantam before his four seasons with the Aurora High School Greenmen.  During this time he’s been able to play on a variety of teams competing at a variety of levels from B level his first year to AA during others, has learned how to play all three skating positions, and has played against teams from all over metropolitan Cleveland and Pittsburgh, Michigan, New York and Ontario.  He was on a mite team in Pittsburgh that finished second overall for its league championship, and a squirt team in Cleveland that finished first overall and won a league championship.

Brandt has been a four year starter and letterman for the Aurora High School varsity hockey team in Aurora, OH.  He was named team captain as a junior and again as a senior.  He is passionate about hockey, has received Greater Cleveland High School Hockey League all-division honors his junior and senior years, and GCHSHL all-league honors for his senior year.  

Brandt has always put his team first, and played whatever position and role was asked of by his coaches.  He was able to provide stability and leadership to the Aurora program during a challenging rebuilding period, and is excited for the future of the team.  He has provided positive leadership on and off the ice for a young team, and was able to control game flow during most of the games played by his team this season.

Brandt is also an honor student with an academic letter, and has been involved with other school related and charitable groups.  He will likely pursue an engineering degree, but is undecided on where he will attend (Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Miami-OH, Pittsburgh, Penn, Johns Hopkins).
