The ability to earn and give respect, along with her calm demeanor are what make the team see her as a leader. As the captain of our team, Alison has the ability to effectively manage conflict, and ensure the team stays positive while going in the same direction. That is a difficult feat for any captain when dealing with such a wide array of young girl’s personalities and ages. Alison can recognize her role as a friend to her teammates, a crucial defensive threat on the ice, as well as an extension of the coaching staff when we are not around. She balances these three roles with poise and is one of the most dedicated teammates I have been honored to play with or coach.
