Bishop O’Connell | Bishop O’Connell Knights | BOYS

Tommy was born in Northern Virginia and has lived there his whole life. He attended Holy Trinity School from preschool to 8th grade and Bishop O’Connell for all of high school. He started playing hockey as a 3 year old and has played every season since, including four seasons of Knights Hockey.

Tommy is one of hardest working players on the Bishop O’Connell Hockey Team, as a Captain, he leads by example.  Prior to each game you can always find him doing extra preparation work to ensure he is ready to play his best at each and every game.

Tommy is a four year Varsity letterman and has represented the O’Connell Knights in the league All-Star game as a Freshman and Sophomore and was nominated this season as a Senior.  As Senior and Captain of the team, Coaches needed Tommy to work on other aspects of his game, such as defense and involving more of his line mates in the offensive zone.   A few coaches had their doubts but Tommy improved his game, moved the puck more and his defensive skills.  This change helped the Knights win games against opponents we have not beaten in well over 5 years.

Tommy’s hard work, high energy and enthusiasm on the ice pays dividends with goals in key games for the Knights.  He is smart player leading the team with the fewest penalties

Tommy has spent many years helping under privileged children to learn to skate and play hockey in Washington DC at the  Fort Dupont Ice Arena.

Tommy has also received the Northern Virginia Scholastic Hockey League’s All-Academic Award for maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher during the hockey season.

He is a well rounded hockey player and excellent steward of the game.
