Sophie exemplifies everything a coach hopes their program becomes. She works hard in practices and games, takes her leadership serious (is a 2 year captain, which is rare in our program), has high expectations of herself and her teammates, and knows how to have fun playing the game. Sophie works very hard in the off-season and has improved every year during the season, but also from February to November.  She routinely puts her team before herself and is a great example of having a growth mindset. She works hard every day to ensure her teammates are getting along and/or problem solving because she knows that building relationships is as important as improving skills to the success of the team.  Sophie is a goal scorer, but she also knows how to share the puck.  She has had many highlight reel assists in her career.  The bottom line is that Sophie is the heart and soul of our team.  The pressure that comes with that responsibility can be heavy at times.  Sophie has found a great balance in taking on the role, but also giving parts of it to her teammates.  That has made our team even stronger.
