Katie is the leader of our hockey team. She is our only senior this season, Katie has gone out of her way to help our younger players transition to high school hockey by making them feel comfortable and helping them become part of the team. Not only has she organized team outings and gatherings, but she also is a mentor and a role model to the other players. In addition to being a hard worker on the ice, she is an excellent student and involved with numerous school groups and organizations that contribute to the positive culture in our school. Kids like Katie are why I continue to coach, because they are a joy to work with and provide me with many rewards that go beyond wins and losses.
