Bloomington High School South | Bloomington Blades | GIRLS
Lexi has demonstrated through her example and quiet leadership, an exemplar representation of intelligence, patience, and fortitude. Lexi, has overcome the challenges of being the only female on the Bloomington Blades Hockey Club for her entire high school career. Lexi has never once asked to be treated special in any way. She has demanded that she be treated with equality and looked at as just another player non-gender specific. She has performed as any player would, she has sacrificed her body to take shots in her defensive position, she has played every single game of her career, including playing through injury. All the while maintaining 4.2 GPA, volunteering to assist with the youth hockey programs, and living with her 6 younger siblings. Times have been very tight for this family, and she has always managed to find a way to play. She has been a co-captain this year, and has taken that role on with great pride and she has earned the respect of her peers, by showing up every game ready to play, in the right attire, and always on time. This young person, is wise and mature beyond her years, and she has managed to hold two jobs, play ice hockey and lacrosse, never miss a game, and she still has managed to do 4H as well as maintain a high GPA. To add to all the items listed she just has a great attitude, she listens and seeks out reviews of her play from the coaches and hands down she is a student of the game as well as a good player. She is just as intelligent on the ice as well as off, and one of the easiest players to coach. You cannot help but have great pride in her success on and off the ice.
