Justin Paul is our Captain of the LaCrescent High School Hockey team. Usually, that is not a reason just to hand out an award; especially one of this magnitude. What make Justin so special, and particularly deserving of this award is his leadership and mentorship capabilities of such a young/low numbered/particiapant team. This has been a very unique year for Justin and the team. When you think of “Minnesota High School Hockey” you think of the most elite and premiere High School Hockey in the Country. Justin is team Captain to Varsity Hockey team that each game competes with One-8th grader, Three-9th graders, Four-10th graders, and Three-11th graders out of their 12 dressed Varsity skaters. Not only is Justin our team leader, he constantly exemplifies what it means to be a leader and role-model on the ice, in the classroom, and out in the community to his younger teammates. Words like Integrity, coachability, selflessness, and citizenship are used in consideration of receiving this prestigious award; by ALL means Justin demonstrates ALL of these and is a perfect candidate to receive the Hobey Baker High School Character Award.
