Beckman High School | Beckman Patriots | BOYS
Integrity, positive attitude, coachability, outstanding sportsmanship and community spirit are the criteria used to select the Hobey Baker High School Character Award winner. These are also terms that describe Brandon Hom, a sophomore at Arnold O. Beckman High School and member of the Beckman Patriots junior varsity hockey team. Brandon joined the Patriots as a freshman, after spending several years away from hockey. In the two years since joining the team Brandon’s positive attitude, desire to improve and develop his game, sportsmanship and continual smile have been unrivaled and have made Brandon one of the most popular players in the program. During this time, Brandon has also been an exceptional student taking numerous AP and honors courses as well as scoring in the 97th percentile on the PSAT. Brandon is a member of two service clubs, the Beckman Key Club and the Lion’s Heart, as well as participating in the California Scholarship Federation. His consistent hard work, outstanding sportsmanship and impeccable character serve as a wonderful example both on and off the ice of how a Beckman Patriot hockey player should conduct themselves. We are fortunate to have Brandon as a member of our program and are proud to nominate him as this year’s Hobey Baker High School Character Award winner.
