This young man has been so much diversity over the past 14 years supporting and watching his mother slowly deteriorate from cancer. A.J. has stayed strong off the ice to support his family and has shown the same contributions on the ice with his high school and travel team.
I’m amazed at how strong and focused this young man has been through all he has been through. And I see a lot of his mother in him. Although we have lost these wonderful women two days before Christmas, I see how she had the time, love, & devotion to mold her children into caring, supportive, human beings. And to not let life’s misfortunes stop you from living life to the fullest.
You had to witness this young man to truly understand what kind of person he is and what he has done for himself, his family, his friends, & teammates. He is truly a deserving of this award and beyond.
