For the 2013-2014 season, we are nominating senior Matthew Martino to receive the Hobey Baker award.  Matt has been a crucial part of the St. Anthony’s Varsity Ice Hockey team for the past three seasons, both on and off the ice.  This season Matt was selected to be our team captain. He far surpassed our expectations of what a captain should be and do.  He organized team meetings with the players, lunches, and other events.  Matt was critical in keeping morale up on the bench and encouraging the team to push themselves as far as they could go.  Without doubt, Matt exemplifies the character traits that are expected of a Hobey Baker award recipient.
