Sylver has been playing hockey within the Charlotte Metro Hockey Association for close to three years now. Although she had started playing the game at the late age of 16, her passion for the sport of hockey knows no bounds. Sylver’s love for hockey is evident every time she steps foot in the rink.
As many before her, Sylver has faced many challenges as a female hockey player. But she never let those challenges break her spirit for her love of the game was too strong. Sylver has been chosen for this award not only for facing adversity but for becoming an exceptional role model to all of the young girls in our program who love the game as much as she does. Although she may not know this, she has taught these girls that hockey is a sport for everyone.
With Sylver leading by example, these young women will have learned that there is no such thing as a ‘female hockey player’ anymore. Just a ‘hockey player’
