Easton Braun is a senior for the Luverne Cardinals this season. His character is shown by the example of strength he sets for all of us. This past summer in late June his younger brother Carter Braun was killed in an automobile accident. A terrible tragedy for the Braun family and the greater community. Carter was a promising young athlete – full of life – who would have been playing his first year of varsity hockey along side his older brother this season. Summer hockey was difficult for everyone but Easton never missed a team event, practice, or game. His commitment during that time really resonated with the team around him. A quiet and humble person Easton didn’t need to say much but it was his presence that pulled the team together and I know that he appreciates their support in return. Watching Easton play this year has been pretty special from a coach’s perspective. He has made great strides as a player and teammate. Playing the game of hockey with the kind of offensive fire and flair that would put a smile on his brother Carter’s face. I am proud to nominate Easton Braun for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award it would be hard to find someone more deserving. Thank you!
