Alex Aracich is a senior goalie on the Patriot Pioneers Varsity Hockey Team. Alex was clearly one of the best goalies in the NVSHL. Alex was voted as alternate captain in a landslide by his teammates and would have been captain if not for the USA hockey rule that a goalie cannot wear the C. The Patriot team was routinely out shot by the higher ranked teams in the NVSHL and Alex was the reason Patriot was competitive in those games and able to win many of them. In the 2 biggest games of the season Patriot was out shot 42-22 against Battlefield and 45-16 against Yorktown. Thanks to the superb play of Alex, Patriot came away with huge upset wins in both games. Alex ended the season with a 6-4 record and is widely recognized as one of the top goalies in a league by all opposing teams and coaches. Alex is loved by his teammates who would go through a brick wall for him. His teammates always play with a high level of confidence that they have a chance to win every game because he’s in the net and can steal a game through his outstanding play. In addition to his play on the ice, Alex has always been a great presence in the locker room and a pleasure to coach. Alex is a quiet leader who always leads by example through his desire, dedication and effort on the ice. Alex also does a great job choosing the right moments to be more vocal with his teammates to make sure they are on the same page and maintain focus in important game situations.
