Well Coach, I’d rather he be on our team, than have to play against him. Drew Wilson joined the Fort Wayne Vipers several weeks into our high school season coming over to Indiana from Ohio because his local high school team was unable to roster enough players to form as a team. Drew simply needed a place to play. His first practice with our team, he was the consummate gentleman, student, and teammate with 19 other players that he had never been around or seen. Our players took an immediate liking to him and voted unanimously to have him join our team. Since that day early in the season, Drew has done nothing less than impress – always showing up to every team function – driving an additional hour or so each way to make it happen, is one of our leading scorers, and shows the highest levels of passion and love for the game of hockey. His personality is so easy going it is simply impossible not to like him and appreciate his dedication to our program – even knowing that he is only going to have played with us for his Senior season. We can think of no better person to give this award to and we would like to express our deepest gratitude and well wishes towards Drew and his family for all they have done for our program!
