The Staples boys ice hockey program recommends Jake Glickman for the 2020 Hobey Baker High School Character Award. Jake has been a great senior captain this year. He has shown strong leadership on and off the ice. With such a young team, he stepped up and led by example all season. Jake has surprising skills in planning and improvising when the task at hand is presented. He looks to collaborate with the team for everyone’s input. Although he is not the loudest vocally, he still maintains his actions in a positive manor to make the team run smoothly and seamlessly. He will not hesitate to initiate a positive comment or help a teammate get back on the same page on any given day. As a coaching staff, we believe that Jake should be recognized for embracing the values that a team needs to be successful. Jake is always focused and determined. He has a passionate love and respect for the game, his teammates, coaches, and referees, making him a perfect candidate for the 2020 Hobey Baker High School Character Award.
