Maya is exactly what a coach looks for in a player. She is a fierce competitor who works hard every shift to help her team be successful and is also supportive and kind to her teammates. Maya is a pleasure to coach, listens attentively, and asks questions when unsure how to handle a certain situation on the ice. She comes to every event with a positive attitude that inspires her teammates to elevate their game. During her high school career, Maya has been a reliable shut down defenseman with a nose for the net finishing with 14 goals and 33 assists for 47pts. Her exceptional play and leadership resulted in Maya being voted Captain for her senior year and being named to the All FCIAC Team in both her junior and senior years. Maya’s passion for ice hockey and her respect for teammates, coaches and officials, make her a terrific ambassador for the game and an obvious choice for this year’s Hobey Baker High School Character Award.
