Abby Garvin has shown tremendous growth in her time as a high school athlete. She is a great example of someone who has put their head down and worked to improve as a hockey player and along the way, she has found her voice and her confidence as a leader in our program. Abby’s high school hockey experience has not been smooth sailing. She has experienced it all, playing with the JV team early on in her career, working to get more ice time at the varsity level, playing significant and meaningful minutes as a junior, and most recently having had to deal with an injury during the first half of her senior season. I remember after her sophomore year she was wondering what she could do to achieve two things: more significant playing time and her dream of being a Division I hockey player. As a staff we gave her some specific skills to work on but ultimately it was up to her and the work she put in. I am very proud of Abby, for not just putting in the work to achieve her goals, but for being a great person, teammate, leader and friend along the way. Abby is a great ambassador of everything we want BSM Girls Hockey to be.
