Thomas has been a silent leader for us for 4 seasons. Obviously as a freshman and sophomore on the Varsity he wasn’t as vocal, but that has never stopped him from taking the coaching and implementing it on the very next shift. He has never had to be constantly reminded about working on this or fixing this because once he has been coached up on it he takes care of it.

For 4 seasons he has been our work horse, going up against the biggest and strongest other teams have, going on the ice every other shift and leaving everything he has on the ice each shift, each game. Since becoming a Captain his junior and senior year he has been a strong and trusted voice in the locker room. He is effectively an extension of the coaching staff and a player who has defined what a captain is meant to be. If coachability, strength of character, integrity, commitment, teamwork, community building and outstanding sportsmanship are values this game teaches and character, excellence, a love for the game and sportsmanship are values that defined Hobey Baker, than Thomas Sacco is the epitome of a candidate for this character award and the hockey player that coaches dream of coaching.
