Marin is a little fish in a big pond. She is the definition of the ideas that the Hobey Baker award are built upon. Her core values push her to succeed in reaching her goals on and off the ice. As difficult as it has been, she has played men’s varsity hockey for the last four years. Many times it would have been easier to give up but instead her values guided her to push herself and set an example for others around her to persevere and exceed her goals. She works on and off the ice with purpose and is deliberate in her actions. She consistently puts her team ahead of herself and is willing to sacrifice her desires for what is best for the team. Through her silent efforts, she has become a role model for not only her team mates, but the youth community around her.
