Danny has been a 2 year captain of Hamden Hall. Not only is he a leader on the ice, off the ice Dan is a leader in the class room. With a 4.0 GPA Danny is applying to all Ivy League schools and Yale is his top pick. In the 2 years I have coached Danny at Hamden Hall each day he comes to the rink with a positive attitude. Pushing his team mates to be the best that they can be. Game are won and Lost in practice and Danny makes sure each player knows that. He is one of three captains this year, though he may not produce the most points each game, he has an impact every game. Danny is the least penalized player each year, his discipline on the ice is a huge reason he has been nominated for this award. Dan is a by-product of his parents who have been key role in the success of our program for the last 4 years. Each practice Danny thanks his coaches for their time, and is appreciative of time time they put into the team each year. As a coach, I can see that Danny understands the big picture that the hockey community provides. He has already said that if he goes to college locally, he wants to give back to Hamden Hall. There is no better student athlete that deserves this award than Danny Vining.
