Jackson Jimmy Rock has played varsity hockey at RFHS for 3 seasons. However, that is not why he was picked by our coaching staff for this award. Jimmy has developed into the kind of person every coach wants on his team. Jimmy cares for others, expects teammates to give their best effort, and when he talks, everyone listens. The story that exemplifies his personality the most however, is what I saw him do in school one day when I was walking through the lunch room at RFHS. Jimmy and another one of players noticed a student who didn’t have anyone to sit with. Jimmy then taps his teammate on the shoulder and they both get up, and spend lunch with that student so he didn’t have to sit alone. Jimmy would have been well within his rights to spend the rest of his lunch with his normal buddies he hangs around with. He felt that another student needed some company and gave up time with his friends, so that someone else had one. That’s special and makes me so proud to nominate Jackson for this award.
