When reading the characteristics of a Hobey Baker candidate, this athlete checks all the boxes. Her hockey career began her 7th grade year when she quickly earned respect from her teammates and opponents with her work ethic, intensity, and commitment to be the best player she could be. She is a two sport varsity athlete who makes a positive impact on or off the ice/ field. When faced with the adversity of an ACL injury, one that some have a hard time coming back from, it only made this athlete a stronger teammate and player. She worked harder than most, showing up to the rink each day to support her team, and never let her smile and positivity fade. Zoe continues to prove to us as coaches and to her teammates that some of the most important life lessons can be learned through this great game of Hockey. Because of her compassion and selflessness, she was awarded two-time captain by her teammates. She has a very bright future ahead of her and no matter where she goes or who she is around they will be better for having known her – we as coaches are very proud and honored to select Zoe Timmons for the 2023 – 24 Hobey Baker award.
