Cadin is a senior having played JV hockey through his HS career. His attitude, energy, and positive approach to the game and the team are contagious. Cadin leads by example and rarely is out worked in drills, game battles, or in working to improve and understand the game. As a junior he was willing to commit a year of his HS hockey to playing goalie, never having undertaken that position before. We had only one individual in the program who had played goalie regularly through his youth hockey and we needed help at that position. After one discussion with the team in a preseason meeting, Cadin approached me and said I am willing to give that a try but will need your help. Cadin is a very clean player, rarely taken a penalty, and does not retaliate. Win, lose or draw, Cadin demonstrates sportsmanship, does not let emotions get the best of him, and always has encouraging words for teammates. In our minds, and in our program, Cadin exemplifies the qualities that are intended to be recognized with the Hobey Baker Award.
