Troy High School Hockey | Trojans | BOYS
Mason Weaver is a senior on the Troy High School hockey program. He has always wanted to play for Troy since he was little, and in his junior year, he open enrolled to Troy solely to play hockey. Unfortunately, his junior year was cut short when he took a hit in a preseason game and tore his ACL and meniscus. He spent the next 9 months in physical therapy with the sole determination of one last shot at playing hockey for Troy.
He has returned his senior year and shined both as a player and a teammate. Currently he sits at 14 goals and 10 assists for 24 points through 20 games. Mason also never says anything bad to his teammates, is willing to give up ice time to those that don’t get as much playing time and is supportive of those that end up on the injury list (having experienced it himself). On top of his time as a hockey player, Mason will be joining the United States Marine Corps after high school; again, showcasing his will to serve a greater cause. He is the definition of character, excellence, and a love for the game. His determination to come back from such a serious injury and his passion to want to play the game he loves is an inspiration to others that just want that second chance. He will be sorely missed after this season both as a player that contributes and a teammate that cares about the program and hockey in the area.
