As Cole’s coach at Brebeuf Jesuit Prep Hockey for the past three seasons, I have had the opportunity and pleasure to witness not only his exceptional athletic abilities but also his outstanding academic achievements and commitment to various extracurricular pursuits.

On the ice and in the locker room, as a four year player for the Brebeuf, Cole has been a steadfast part of our club. He and his twin brother Ethan are always available for workouts, and all team activities, encouraging others to strive to be better. He is very coachable and has taken advantage of what his coaches have provided him in terms of guidance and support. As a result, he has grown tremendously as a hockey player over the past four years. He is one of our top playmakers and a go-to player when the game is on the line.

Off the ice, Cole’s academic record is truly impressive, boasting a stellar GPA of 4.0. His dedication to rigorous coursework, including multiple Advanced Placement (AP) courses such as World History, U.S. History, Chemistry, Psychology, Studio-Arts, Macroeconomics, and US Government and Politics, reflects his intellectual curiosity and capacity for academic excellence. Cole’s commitment to challenging himself in a diverse array of subjects showcases his well-rounded academic foundation.

Beyond the classroom, Cole is an active participant in numerous extracurricular activities, demonstrating his commitment to personal growth and community engagement. His involvement in Varsity Hockey since 2020 highlights not only his athleticism but also his dedication to teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship. Additionally, Cole has contributed to the school community through participation in the Choir in 2021-2022, Ultimate Frisbee in 2023, and the Photography Club and Pre-Med Club, both in 2023.

His volunteer work with his brother over the past four years in on-ice support of the Indy Steel Sled Hockey program (the Team helps physically challenged players compete across the region in hockey) reflects his commitment to helping others experience the game he loves, with a positive impact on the lives of others.

I wholeheartedly recommend Cole Dubois for the Hobie Baker Award from Brebeuf Jeusit Hockey for the 2023-2024 season. I am proud to have known the Dubois Family for the past 15 years in the Indy Hockey community and very proud to have coached Cole and his brother, Ethan for the past three years.
