Lukas is a leader and role model on and off the ice. His passion to make is teammates better is unparalleled by the expectations he has set for himself in practice, games and in the classroom. Average is not enough for Lukas and excellence is what he strives for each and everyday. In 2019, he has led our team as one of the top goalies in the state with top 5 finishes in GAA and Save Percentage. His academics have positioned him for early acceptance to the University of MN Carlson School of Business as well as being deferred for the 2020 school year at Harvard and The Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He is very active in the community with charity work through numerous non-profit and church organizations. A story from early on sums Lukas up; on a bus trip to a very important game, Lukas asks me if it’s ok for him to make a conference call with a business he’s helping with for a case study. He proceeds to have a 30 minute conversation (leading it) and suggesting multiple strategies to implement at a Fortune 500 company. After wrapping up the call he leads the boys in a pre-game speech to get them pumped up for the challenge at hand. The game that night ends in a 3 – 1 win with Lukas having 42 saves on 43 shots. Just another day in the life of Lukas Haugen!
