Maura is one of our senior captains. Last season she played a big part in our teams success that lead us to the league championship and a berth in the state tournament. After being injured prior to this season Maura was told she was to sit out her senior season of hockey. This didn’t slow Maura down. She was everything you would want in a captain. We practice everyday after school in the town that’s adjacent to us. Maura drove a group of girls to every practice even though she was not playing. Stayed all practice then drove each girl she drove home. Maura came to all games home and away cheering us on and helping me with anything I needed. She made calls to the team and sent out information as needed without complaint. Maura showed tremendous character knowing her season was over and truly deserves this award for our team.
