Countdown to Hobey:

Rachel Haviland

2016 | Rhode Island | GIRLS

MOUNT ST CHARLES | Mount St Charles – Lincoln – Cumberland Co-op | GIRLS

She decided to play hockey in 10th grade and I have never seen anyone else work as hard at something as she has at the sport of hockey. Whenever she is on the ice she gives it 110% no matter what! She is most definitely a team player and always wants what is best for the team. I have seen her play sick and hurt because she stayed committed to the team.

Rachel is always there to lend a helping hand whenever it is needed. I believe it’s important to show that the Hobey Baker award is not about who the best player on the team is, but its about who gives 110% at all times. If you have a question about the drill that we’re doing on the ice, Rachel will explain it to you until you understand.

Hi coach,
For Hobey Baker I choose Rachel because she just started playing hockey 3 years ago. By looking at her play no one could tell that. She has improved so much and overall is a good person on and off the ice. She always shows good sportsmanship and gives 100% effort on and off the ice. She is an amazing roll model for anyone who is playing hockey and is thinking about playing hockey.

These are just a few of the emails I received about Who and Why a player should be named to the Hobey Baker Award.
